Dubai: Outstanding companies, workers and business service partners in the UAE will be awarded by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE), after it announced the Emirates Labour Market Awards on Wednesday.
During a media briefing in Dubai on Wednesday, the date was announced for receiving nominations for the first edition of Emirates Labour Market award by Dr. Abdulrahman Abdulmannan Al Awar, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation.
“The award has been approved by the UAE cabinet..." he said.
Al Awar added that the award would help build a comprehensive and strong economy and enhance the competitiveness of the labour market and the role of the government departments and to develop the laws and regulations of the Labour market that will create a welcoming environment for the business community.

The award will be held annually, however, according to Noura Mohammed Almarzouqi Assistant, Undersecretary for Policy and Strategic Affairs, winners of the first award can't enter for the next two years, but will enjoy the benefits that winners will receive.
Can free zone companies participate?
According to Al Awar, the Ministry would support best practices by all participants, as long as the nomination applications meet the criteria and requirements and can provide supporting documents with their applications.

3 award categories
The award is divided into three categories:
1. Establishments
Distinguished establishments that contributed to managing employment relationships in an exceptional manner
Main category: Award for the Leading Establishment in Labour Market awarded to establishment that has adopted the best practices for its human resources in line with the Award's criteria and accomplished the highest compliance with work environment regulations and standards.
Sub-categories:
• Outstanding establishment for employment, empowerment and attracting skilled labour practices.
• Outstanding establishment for occupational health and safety practices.
• Outstanding establishment for practices related to employment relationships and wages.
• Outstanding establishment for workforce wellbeing and quality of life.
• Most future-proof establishment.
• Outstanding workers’ accomodation award.
Recognition
A total of 28 awards will be given under this category by establishment size - (small, medium, large, very large), with seven winners in each category.
2. Workforce
Outstanding workforce that has served the UAE' businesses and community.
Under this category, there are three sub-categories:
Skilled labour -
higher professional levels
Unskilled labour -
professional levels 6 and below
General nominations -
all work types
Recognition
There will be three awards given under each sub category, with a total of 12 awards.

The Business Service Partners category is divided into three sub-categories:
• Domestic workers recruitment agencies
• Employment Agencies
• Business service centres

Winners will be announced for each category, with a total of three awards.
