Sharjah: Sharjah Police foiled an attempt to export gold stolen during a late-night heist at a jewellery shop in the city of Khor Fakkan.

Stolen jewellery, valued at around Dh800,000, was recovered before it was shipped through one of the country’s ports.

The Police Operations Room was informed that a gold shop in Khor Fakkan was robbed late at night.

Investigations and search operations led to the stolen gold in a shipping container at one of the ports.

Case filed

The case has been referred to the Public Prosecution.

Sharjah Police called on individuals and owners of commercial establishments to secure their establishments with security systems and cooperate with security services.
