The world’s smallest assembly-line manufactured road legal car – the electric powered Peel Trident – which made an appearance at the 2019 Dubai International Motor Show is set to be on permanent display at Global Village for its 24th season in a brand new Ripley’s Believe It or Not attraction due to open to the public this week.

Members of the public can enter into a quiz competition where winners are able to drive the world’s smallest car around a dedicated track. Show-goers at the 15 edition of the motoring extravaganza held at the Dubai World Trade Centre were delighted to take the unique car for a spin.

Initially engineered from 1965 to 1966, the Peel Trident is one of two of the smallest ever assembly-line manufactured road legal cars, both of which were made by the Peel Engineering Company. The British-built car weighs just 80kg and has a top speed of 40kph thanks to its four horse-power electric motor.

The custom-made Ripley's Believe It or Not! Peel Trident model is considered to be the ‘sports model’ and has two forward speeds, one reverse gear, and can squeeze in a 6'6" driver as well as fit inside a regulation size elevator.

The Peel Trident will be showcased in Global Village’s Ripley's Believe It or Not! Edutainment attraction alongside other interesting oddities such as the world’s only intricately carved wooden Ferrari replica which drives on water, an actual piece of the original Berlin Wall, a behemoth Megalodon shark jaw, a large iron Gibeon meteorite from thousands of years ago, amongst other fascinating artifacts and exhibits.
