Oman announces Saturday as first day of Eid Al Fitr

The moon-sighting committee convened on Thursday

Dubai: Oman announced on Thursday that the first day of Eid Al Fitr, the religious holiday marking the end of Ramadan, will be celebrated on Saturday, April 22.

The decision was reached after the committee from the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs met on Thursday evening to sight the crescent moon, in line with Islamic tradition.
