Dubai: Aron Lomax set a new personal benchmark to emerge triumphant in the OMA Emirates MedalFord held at the Jumeirah Golf Estates recently. The event, presented in association with Christie’s International Real Estate Dubai, attracted 112 members on the Fire course.

Lomax achieved a remarkable net score of 61 (-11), navigating the challenging Fire course. His round featured a remarkable tally of 10 net birdies and a net eagle, notably on the par 4 6th hole.

In Division A, a category for players with handicaps of 10.4 and below, Russell Wilson secured victory with an impressive net score of 68.

Wilson’s stellar round included 7 net birdies, showcasing his skill on the Fire course. Umair Javed claimed the runner-up position with a net 69, while the third spot went to the reigning Thursday Curry Club champion, Jamie Snowdon, who posted a net 70.

In Division B, comprised of players with handicaps of 10.5 and above, Steve Noon emerged as the winner with a net score of 69. Noon’s solid performance featured a notable gross birdie on the 1st hole of the Fire course. Mohammed Darwish secured the runner-up position, delivering a commendable net score of 70. The third spot was claimed by Moustafa Shahin, who posted a net score of 71.

Sherma Ayrton showcased her exceptional skills in the ladies’ category, securing victory with a net score of -2, her outstanding round featured an impressive tally of 7 net birdies. Jamie Clarke demonstrated his skill and finesse in the senior category, clinching victory with a net score of -1 (71). His stellar performance secured a one-stroke lead over the field.

Junior category

Young talent Samuel Durbin shone in the junior category, claiming victory with a net score of 75. Durbin’s impressive round featured a net eagle on the challenging par-4 4th hole.

Chris Wilmot claimed the gross victory with a stellar round of 71 (-1), while the 2023 club champion, David Bainbridge, secured second place with a level-par 72.

Joshua Worton emerged victorious in the Stableford category with an impressive 39 points. Paul McMahon secured the second spot with a commendable score of 37 points.

Simon Howells claimed victory in the nearest the pin contest on Hole 2, showcasing precision and skill. The 2023 Men’s Captain, Jonny Hall, demonstrated his prowess on the 8th hole, securing the other nearest the pin on hole 8.

During the Beat the Pro challenge, nine players surpassed TFA teaching professional Jamie Dreelan. Caleb Anderson’s exceptional performance not only secured a victory against the pro but also earned him the prize of a lesson with Jamie Dreelan, after winning the raffle.
